RSCDS Moscow Branch is the official branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS).

We are the oldest Scottish dancing school in Moscow (we were founded in 1993) and the only school authorized to train Scottish Dance teachers. Every year our studens and teachers attend RSCDS Summer School in Saint Andrews, Scotland.

Our classes on SCD are held on Thursdays - from 20:00 to 22:00. We study Cape Breton on Tuesdays from 19:30 to 22:00.

The group is always opened for newcomers.

The classes are held in Filippovskaya school at address: 13 building 1, Malaya Pirogovskaya st., first floor, the gymnasium. The nearest metro stations are Frunzenskaya and Sportivnaya. SCD class starts on Thursday at 20:00, Cape Breton class starts on Tuesday at 19:30. One class costs 300 roubles.

Yulia Tkacheva

Yulia has been dancing Scottish dances since 2004. She has been teaching in RSCDS Moscow Branch School since 2007. In 2009 Yulia took the teaching course by Anne Taylor (United Kingdom) and passed the exams for the first part of the teaching certificate. In July 2014 she attended Unit 5 course by Wendy Jaeger (New Zealand) and Rebecca Blackhall-Peters (Canada), successfully passed final exam and received RSCDS Full Teaching Certificate. She participated many times in RSCDS Summer School in St. Andrews. 

She is not only a great teacher, she is also brilliant organizer. Yulia organized many RSCDS Moscow Branch events.

Evgeny Salmin (Cheboksary)

Evgeny has been dancing Scottish dances since 2009.
He has been teaching in the Studio of the traditional and folk dancing "Beltane Bonfires" in Cheboksary since 2012.
He became a member of RSCDS in 2013.
In 2013 he successfully passed exams for the first part of the RSCDS teaching certificate, his tutor was Malcolm Brown (United Kingdom).
In 2014 he went to the RSCDS Summer School in St. Andrews.
In 2015 he received the RSCDS Full Teaching Certificate, his tutor was Helen Russell (United Kingdom).

 

Irina Gorelova (Cheboksary)

Irina has been dancing Scottish dances since 2010.
